Safety subcoolers

  • on the tube side, you connect the mains water
  • on the shell side, you connect the liquid refrigerant leaving the condenser
  • between the water and refrigerant spaces there is a static space that allows a leak to be detected before there is any contamination between the fluids
  • the mains water is slightly heated, possibly for DHW preparation
  • the refrigerant is strongly sub-cooled, significantly increasing the COP
  • no pump or automatic system required
  • the water side can be made entirely of 304 or 316 stainless steel
